In the past 10 years, there have been a paradigm shift from food as health and nutrition to food as well-being where food is perceived to have a role on one’s overall well-being. An important component of food well-being is food socialization. This research extends the previous literature on food as well-being by exploring food socialization at the community level through the use of technology during times of social isolation. The contributions of this research will give marketers and public policy makers a better understanding on food socialization at the broader levels and help them design programs to improve consumer well-being at the societal level.
