In addition to his amazing work on subsistence marketplaces, Madhu Viswanathan is an expert on measurement error and its implications for research design. He has co-authored books and articles on the topic and, for several decades, has taught a PhD seminar on the topic. His work is relevant for researchers who use secondary or primary data, helping to:
Facilitates a deep understanding of measurement error at an intuitive (over and above statistical) level.
Build confidence and ability to design measures and methods while minimizing measurement error.
Understand the relationship between measurement and research design and translating it into conducting empirical research
In addition, he has delivered a series of online workshops, videos and materials from which are available on a Youtube Channel. Sage has also produced videos where he elaborates on the topic. These videos, available through institutional as well as trial subscriptions, as listed below in addition to other resources on the topic.
Madhu is interested in learning what other measurement error and research design webinars the TCR community might be interested in. To help him learn what your needs are, please complete this short survey (< 5 minutes to complete). Additionally, as much as he can, he has offered to visit your classes virtually to provide some interaction and Q and A. Madhu writes, "This, like much of what we do, is a labor of love - and if my experience can be of some use, I will be happy to be there." To discuss further, please contact Madhu at his email address or complete the short survey.
